Gide is delighted to announce the arrival of Marcus Billam, Jean-Baptiste de Martigny and Alexandre Durand as partners in the M&A Department in Paris.
For several years now, Marcus Billam, Jean-Baptiste de Martigny and Alexandre Durand have formed a team with a reputation for its dynamism, creativity and the quality of its services in the field of mergers and acquisitions. Marcus Billam is a lawyer at the Paris Bar specialised in mergers and acquisitions and securities law. He essentially advises listed and unlisted companies and family groups in their strategic and cross-border projects. He has worked with industrialists and investment funds on many market transactions. Marcus Billam also advises listed companies regarding corporate governance issues. Before joining Gide, Marcus Billam was a partner at Darrois Villey Maillot Brochier from 2015, after being a partner at Allen & Overy (2010 – 2015). Prior to that, he was a partner at Clifford Chance (2000 to 2010) and Darrois Villey Maillot Brochier (1998 to 2000). He is a graduate of Paris II – Assas (1982-1986).
Jean-Baptiste de Martigny is a lawyer at the Paris Bar specialised in mergers and acquisitions and securities law. He frequently advises listed and unlisted companies, family groups and private equity and infrastructure funds. Before joining Gide, Jean-Baptiste de Martigny was a partner at Darrois Villey Maillot Brochier from 2016, a firm he joined one year before after having worked at Allen & Overy as an associate then as Counsel (2010 – 2015) and at Clifford Chance (2002 – 2010). He is a graduate of University College London, Master of Laws (LLM), Paris Institute of Political Sciences (Sciences Po) - economics and finance section, and holds a Masters from Panthéon-Assas (Paris 2) University.
Alexandre Durand is a lawyer at the Paris Bar specialised in mergers and acquisitions and securities law. He essentially advises listed and unlisted companies, family groups and private equity funds in their strategic and cross-border projects. Before joining Gide, Alexandre Durand worked at Allen & Overy as an associate (2013 – 2015) then joined Darrois Villey Maillot Brochier in 2015 as an associate before becoming Counsel in 2022. He is a graduate of Edhec Business School – MSc Legal & Tax and holds a Master 2 in Business law and taxation from Paris Dauphine University.
