John Crothers est spécialisé en matière de financements de projets, d'opérations bancaires et de privatisations tant avec des pays en voie de développement que des pays développés.
Avec plus de 35 ans d'expérience, John est un expert en matière de projets de grande envergure et de rédaction de lois. Il conseille les gouvernements, institutions financières internationales, prêteurs et sponsors, de l'étude de faisabilité initiale au stade de l'appel d'offres et aux bouclages financiers des projets assurant tout au long des projets la mise en place d'une structure contractuelle la mieux adaptée aux spécificités de ces derniers.
Avocat aux barreaux de New York et de Paris, John parle couramment français et anglais et maîtrise aussi bien les problématiques de droit civil que de common law.
Il a conseillé des gouvernements, des institutions financières internationales et des banques, des sociétés concessionnaires, des exploitants et des consortia répondant à des appels d'offres dans divers projets d'infrastructures de grande envergure : autoroutes, aéroports, ports, centrales I.P.P, usines de traitement des eaux et télécommunications. Il conseille régulièrement des Etats, des municipalités et d'autres autorités concédantes pour la mise en place de partenariats publics-privés ainsi que la mise en place de lois sur les concessions et de lois sectorielles.
Avant de rejoindre Gide, John Crothers a travaillé en tant que conseil juridique à la Banque Européenne pour la Reconstruction et le Développement (BERD) à Londres. Dans ce cadre, il est intervenu dans plus de quarante projets dans quinze pays d'Europe de l'Est et en Russie.
John Crothers est systématiquement référencé comme Leading Individual en Project Finance and Energy par les guides internationaux Chambers Global, Legal 500 et IFLR1000.
