Gide advises Flowdesk on the international reorganisation of its business and the obtaining of its MiCA authorisation as a Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP)
Gide advised Flowdesk in obtaining its license as a Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP) under the European MiCA Regulation by the French Financial Markets Authority (AMF), as well as on the international reorganization of the group’s activities aimed at establishing Flowdesk Europe as its flagship regulated platform for the European market.
Founded in France, Flowdesk is a global trading and technology group specializing in crypto-assets. Operating across several international markets, the group provides liquidity solutions, trading services and technological infrastructure to crypto-asset issuers, financial institutions, trading venues and professional investors.
The MiCA license obtained by Flowdesk Europe marks a major milestone in the group’s development. It enables Flowdesk to provide crypto-asset services within a harmonized European regulatory framework and to benefit from the passporting regime established under the MiCA Regulation.
This authorization forms part of a broader transformation project undertaken by the group, including the reorganization of certain international activities, the implementation of new operational and contractual frameworks, and the adaptation of its governance structure to support its continued growth across Europe.
Gide assisted Flowdesk on all regulatory, corporate, tax and employment aspects of this strategic development. The firm’s work notably covered the regulatory structuring of the project, the preparation and review of the license application, ongoing interactions with the AMF and the ACPR throughout the authorization process, as well as the intra-group reorganization implemented in connection with the launch of Flowdesk Europe’s activities.
This achievement illustrates the ongoing consolidation and structuring of the European crypto-asset sector as the MiCA framework becomes fully operational, and confirms Flowdesk’s position as one of the leading players in the institutional crypto-asset ecosystem.
