Samy Laghouati est l'associé responsable du bureau d’Alger de Gide, qu’il a créé en 2003. Il est également en charge des activités du cabinet en Tunisie. Il se consacre principalement aux projets et investissements réalisés en Algérie et en Tunisie. Il assiste et conseille tant les entités publiques (gouvernement, entreprises publiques) que les investisseurs étrangers. Il traite essentiellement des opérations de privatisation, d’acquisition, de joint venture et de grands projets d’infrastructures (immobilier, énergie, eau, etc.).
Il accompagne ses clients à tous les stades : structuration (juridique et fiscale), exécution et suivi des investissements.
Il enseigne à l’Ecole Supérieure Algérienne des Affaires (fiscalité internationale).
