Gide, sponsor of the 2025 Oxford French Law Moot
In Oxford for the 2025 edition of the French Law Moot, the firm once again demonstrated its long-standing commitment to this prestigious French-language advocacy competition, organised by the University of Oxford and proudly supported by Gide since 2008.
The event brings together teams of students to debate a legal issue in French law, under the auspices of the Institute of European and Comparative Law.
Participants are enrolled in the French law stream of Oxford’s BA in Law with Law Studies in Europe and will join Université Paris-Panthéon-Assas next academic year as part of an exchange programme.
Philippe Dupichot, Saadia Bhatty, James Casey and Vincent Carriou represented the firm on the judging panel, alongside Joël Cavallini (Université Panthéon-Assas) and Estelle Cros, Magistrate at the Cour d’Appel de Bordeaux.
The panel commended the teams for the rigour of their legal reasoning, their eloquence, boldness, and the creativity and humour they brought to their advocacy.
The firm extends its warmest congratulations to all the mooters and wishes them every success in their future legal careers.
