Collaboration | Gray's Inn
Gide is delighted to announce that it is collaborating with The Honourable Society of Gray's Inn ("Gray's Inn) to launch a French-English Law Essay Prize.
The topic for the prize will focus on a comparison of law relevant to commercial transactions in the French and English legal systems.
The judging panel will be chaired by Lady Justice Nicola Davies who will be joined by Simon Whittaker, Professor of European Comparative Law and a Fellow of St John's College, Oxford; Philippe Dupichot, Professor of law at the Sorbonne and Head of Gide's Scientific Council; Bénédicte Fauvarque-Cosson, a judge at the Conseil d'Etat in Paris; Nadège Nguyen, partner in Gide's Mergers & Acquisitions/Corporate practice group; and Michael Butcher co-founder and Past President of the Franco-British Lawyers Society.
The Essay topic title will be revealed in line with the Easter break of 2022 with submissions required by the end of August 2022. The winner and runner-up will be announced in late September 2022. The winner of the competition will receive a prize of £1,500 plus a two-week paid internship with Gide's London office; the runner-up will receive a prize of £1,000.

The prize will be open to individuals in full time legal education for less than six years at the time of submission of the essay.
