Gide bolsters its position in Africa with new Dakar office

Gide continues its international expansion with the inauguration of a regional office in Dakar, Senegal. This strategic foothold is driven by newly appointed Gide partner, Magueye Gueye, recognized for his expertise and dynamism.

The African continent, at the heart of the Firm’s strategic challenges

Africa constitutes a top priority for Gide, which has been assisting stakeholders in the major milestones of the continent’s economic and social development for decades. Today, the dedicated team comprises twenty partners and over fifty lawyers, handling complex cases across the continent.

The opening of the Dakar office provides a new hub, serving as an operational base dedicated to supporting clients in developing their business in sub-Saharan Africa and across the continent. This new office strengthens the Firm’s coverage around the globe, which also includes offices in Casablanca, Algiers, and Tunis, together with international offices in Europe, China and the United States, a strategic partnership with Bowmans in Southern Africa, and a local network across the African continent.

Thanks to this worldwide presence and reach, Gide can offer public and private clients alike an approach that combines international know-how with technical expertise and in-depth knowledge of local stakeholders, in order to support them in their projects on the African continent as well as in their cross-border operations and dealings with Europe, Asia and the Americas.

The Dakar office provides clients with a team specialized in mergers & acquisitions, project structuring and financing (infrastructure, energy and natural resources), tax law, real estate, competition and regulatory matters, and international litigation.

Magueye Gueye heads a versatile and experienced team, including counsel Célia Alao.
