Gide, advised Hy2gen on its investment in the H4 Marseille Fos project
Gide advised Hy2gen on its investment in Fos-sur-Mer (Southern Region) in the H4 Marseille Fos project, led by French group H2V, a subsidiary of Samfi-Invest, and the Grand Port Maritime de Marseille, with financial support from Technip Energies and Hy24, a fund manager dedicated to the deployment of hydrogen.
Representing a total investment of approximately €1.5 billion and creating 165 direct jobs, this Franco-German joint venture will be dedicated to the production of sustainable aviation fuel (e-SAF). Operational in 2030, the plant will produce 75,000 tonnes per year, avoiding 240,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions (an 84% reduction compared to fossil-based kerosene).
This significant investment in the hydrogen and synthetic fuels sector is part of the investments announced by the President of the Republic during the “Choose France” summit held on 19 May 2025 at the Château de Versailles.
The Gide team was led by partner Alexis Pailleret, and included counsel Chloé Bouhours and associate Sophia Messedi for Mergers & Acquisitions / Private Equity matters, as well as partners Marie Bouvet Guiramand, Bénédicte Mazel, and associate Emma George for project and energy law matters.
