Sophie Matamoros is an associate in Gide's "International Arbitration" team in Paris.

Her practice covers all areas of international arbitration and focuses on commercial and investment arbitration. Sophie has represented clients in ICC international commercial arbitration proceedings concerning post-merger and acquisition disputes and construction disputes. Sophie has also advised States and State entities in a number of ICSID and ad hoc investor-State arbitrations relating to various sectors of activity, including mining, telecommunications, energy and transport.

A member of the Club Español del Arbitraje and CFA-40, Sophie is also a volunteer with the Paris Bar's Bus de la Solidarité and works pro bono for the associations Droits d'urgence and Jesuit Refugee Service.

Sophie holds a Master I in International Business Law from Université Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne, a Master II in Business Law from Université Paris V Descartes, a Master in International Law and Management from HEC Paris and her LL.M. in International and Comparative Law from UCLA School of Law. She was admitted to the Paris Bar in 2019.
