Admitted as a Solicitor (England & Wales) in 2014, associate James Casey completed his Higher Rights of Audience (Civil) to become a Solicitor Advocate in 2017 and was admitted to the Paris Bar in 2018. Specialising in international arbitration and dispute resolution, he has acted as counsel and advised clients in arbitration proceedings in energy-, construction-, telecommunication- and sports-related disputes conducted in both French and English under the auspices of several institutions (ICC, LCIA, VIAC, CAS) applying the laws of various jurisdictions.
James is also experienced in litigation matters including substantive commercial disputes and proceedings ancillary to arbitration, and works with transactional teams on multi-tiered dispute resolution mechanisms including questions of enforcement and state immunity.
James is an annual contributor to the Paris Journal of International Arbitration and has lectured at ESCP Europe on international arbitration and MARC.
