Arbitration and the new challenges of the space sector: watch the Young ICCA / Kluwer webinar with Rupert Reece and Vincent Carriou
The growth of private space activities is gradually reshaping the sector and giving rise to new legal considerations, particularly in relation to liability, risk management and dispute resolution.
These issues were at the heart of “From Launch to Re-entry: Risk, Liability and the Trillion-Dollar Space Economy”, a webinar presented by Young ICCA in collaboration with Kluwer Arbitration and co-organised by Vincent Carriou, counsel at Gide and Co-Director of the Young ICCA Mentoring Programme.
Bringing together arbitration practitioners and space industry specialists, the webinar provided an opportunity to explore the legal challenges arising from the continued development of the space economy.
Rupert Reece, partner at Gide, took part in the panel dedicated to liability arising from space activities. The discussion notably considered the allocation of responsibility between States and private actors.
The webinar also addressed investor protection, risk allocation and dispute resolution mechanisms.
To explore these issues further and hear the discussions in full, the webinar recording is now available.
