Gide advises SWEN Capital Partners on the structuring of “SWEN Terra”, a fund whose strategy is dedicated to regenerating soil biodiversity.
Gide has assisted SWEN Capital Partners on the structuring of “SWEN Terra”, SWEN Capital Partners’ first fund in the agricultural asset investment sector, classified as an Article 9 SFDR fund.
SWEN Terra, which takes the form of a French professional private equity fund (fonds professionnel de capital-investissement) open only to subscription by professional investors, pursues an impact strategy that invests in agricultural assets managed in accordance with regenerative agriculture practices and other sustainable agricultural practices.
This new strategy enables SWEN Terra to invest alongside farmers and experts in agricultural holding companies and operators of agricultural assets, ensuring that these are managed in accordance with the principles of regenerative agriculture and agroecology, thereby protecting biodiversity, managing water sustainably and sequestering carbon in the soil, whilst continuing to ensure food production.
The amounts raised – approximately 100 million euros by SWEN Terra – have enabled it to attract several renowned French and European institutional investors, both public and private.
The Gide team was composed of partner Stéphane Puel, of counsel Carine Dymon, as well as associates Coralie Léger and Mathilde Gautier.
