Further to Recommendation ESRB/2011/1, issued on 21 September 2011 by the European Systemic Risk Board and addressed to the European banking supervisory authorities, the National Bank of Romania (“NBR”) has issued a regulation regarding certain conditions for the granting of loans, published in the Official Gazette on 12 December 2012 (the “Regulation”), which addresses, inter alia, the issue of foreign currency lending to corporations.
