Gide advises IMERYS on its lithium mining project
In an important ruling of September 30, 2025 (decision No. 497567 of September 30, 2025), the Council of State ruled for the first time on a Major National Interest Project (PINM). The Council of State confirmed that the lithium mining project carried by the company Imerys, due to its contribution to the ecological transition and national independence, could be qualified as a PINM and indeed met an imperative reason of major public interest.
The Environment and Urban Planning teams at Gide, composed of Jean-Nicolas Clément and Emmanuel Vital-Durand, partners, Alice Bouillié, of counsel, as well as Camille Fromentin and Julia Franses, associates, support the company IMERYS in the development of this project.
