Gide advised Qair International on the financing of the floating solar project on Providence Lagoon in the Seychelles.
On the island of Mahé, the new floating solar photovoltaic power plant developed by the Qair Group with its local partner VetiverTech will have a capacity of 5.8 MWp. This is the first large-scale solar power plant in the Seychelles and one of the largest in Africa. It will contribute to increasing renewable energy in the Seychelles’ energy mix, with a target of 15% renewable energy by 2030.
The project will be financed by Cygnum Capital with a $5.7 million loan.
The Gide team was composed of Marie Bouvet-Guiramand, partner, Mounia Larhrissi, senior associate, and Sarah Whitley, counsel.
