Admitted to the Paris Bar in 2012, counsel Romain Rard specialises in French and EU competition law (State aid, merger control, antitrust) and EU regulatory matters (financial services). Romain acts before the European Commission, as well as before the European Parliament and the Council on regulatory matters. Romain has developed in-depth knowledge of EU processes and solid expertise on financial services, from banking and insurance to asset management, as well as on horizontal issues such as tax and anti-money laundering.
Romain regularly advises professional associations, as well as individual public and private financial institutions. He has advised various clients on European legislation adopted following the financial crisis (AIFMD, CRD, EMIR, MiFIR…).
Romain is a graduate of Lyon III University and a McGill University alumnus. He speaks French and English.
