Pierce O’Meara is an Associate in Gide’s "Competition and International Trade" team in Brussels.

He maintains a broad practice and advises several leading undertakings, particularly in the industries of transport and agriculture, on both competition and trade matters. He also maintains a strong background in EU employment and social law.

Pierce’s two practice areas have recently dovetailed on the matter of the Foreign Subsidies Regulation, on which he has advised a number of clients. In addition, Pierce has recently advised multiple clients on the employment law regimes of several Member States in the context of the Platform Work Directive.

Pierce holds an LL.B. in Law and German from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland as well as an LL.M. in Law and Economics jointly awarded by the University of Haifa, Israel; the University of Hamburg, Germany; and Università di Roma LUMSA, Italy. Pierce is a qualified Irish Barrister having also studied at the Honourable Society of King's Inns and was called to the Bar of Ireland in 2023.
