Joshua Barathon is an associate in Gide's Banking & Finance team in Paris.

He advises on a broad range of capital markets transactions, with a particular focus on debt instruments. He represents issuers and financial institutions on a wide variety of transactions, including EMTN programme updates, drawdowns and standalone debt issuances. He also advises on the documentation and negotiation of derivatives transactions covering various types of underlying assets, as well as financial collateral arrangements and securities financing transactions.

Joshua has notably advised on a number of bond issuances for Veolia Environnement, Air France-KLM, Orange, Eurazeo and Groupama. He has also advised both hedge counterparties and borrowers, including Mistral AI, on the implementation of hedging strategies in connection with financing transactions through derivative instruments.

Joshua graduated from ESCP Business School with a Master in Finance and from Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University with a Master’s degree (Master 2) in Financial Law. He was admitted to the Paris Bar in 2026.
