Gide advises Bureau Veritas on the disposal of its petroleum products and coal activities

Gide advised Bureau Veritas on the tax aspects of its entry into exclusive negotiations with Triton Partners regarding the disposal of its Petroleum & Petrochemical Products and Coal testing and inspection activities.

Founded in 1828, Bureau Veritas is the world leader in Testing, Inspection and Certification services. Its Petroleum & Petrochemical Products and Coal testing and inspection activities, spread across the globe, generated revenue of approximately €450 million in 2025.

This proposed disposal is in line with the Group’s LEAP | 28 strategy and would contribute to transforming Bureau Veritas’ portfolio towards higher-growth, higher-margin activities.

This contemplated transaction, which is currently under negotiation, will be subject to the information and consultation procedures of the relevant employee representative bodies, and could be completed by the end of the first quarter of 2027, subject to the satisfaction of customary conditions precedent.

The Gide team was led by partner Olivier Dauchez, together with partner Alexandre Bochu, counsel Foulques Delaporte and associate Louis Rivierre, in France, partner Guo Min in China, and partner Vanessa Tollis in the United States.
