Matthieu Herviaux is Counsel in Gide's Banking and Finance team in Paris.

He specialises in acquisition finance, in particular private equity and leveraged buy-outs (LBOs), and advises investment funds, banks and debt funds on LBO financings, refinancings and complex financial restructurings, as well as companies under LBO on build-up financings and refinancings.

Matthieu recently acted on behalf of the sponsors in connection with the LBOs of the groups Solina (Astorg), Solabia (TA Associates), Inovie (Ardian), Circet (ICG), Esker and LumApps (Bridgepoint), as well as on behalf of the lenders in connection with the refinancing of the Socotec’s senior debt and the financing of the acquisition of Opella by CD&R. Before joining Gide, Matthieu practised for eight years in the Finance department at Latham & Watkins in Paris.

Matthieu holds a Master II D.J.C.E. specialising in International Business Law from the University of Aix-Marseille and a Diploma in Common Law from the University of Cork (Ireland). He was admitted to the Paris Bar in 2018.
