Our collective strengh

Our firm’s practices are guided by strong ethical principles, foremost among which is respect for each individual. We believe that our culture of openness and sharing enables our lawyers and staff to grow and thrive in their work and in their service to our clients and other stakeholders.

Our organisation brings together the highest levels of expertise to find solutions that best serve our clients. Our strength lies in the ability of our multidisciplinary teams to work together for maximum impact. We work together every day, combining different perspectives to find optimum solutions.

This collective and cross-disciplinary approach offers every member of the firm the opportunity to develop the skills they are passionate about within an international context that broadens their horizons.

Guided by this philosophy, we provide everyone with the means to engage in initiatives that benefit others, e.g., through partnerships with charitable associations or our Pro Bono activities.

Respect for and recognition of our teams are the cornerstones of our collective identity and of our ethical standards.

Opening Pathways to an International Career

As the only French firm with a truly international reach, we enable our lawyers and staff to work on cross-border matters and offer numerous relocation opportunities.

With our 10 offices, partnerships with leading law firms in every jurisdiction, and our exclusive partnership with Lex Mundi in France, we provide our clients with top-tier advice worldwide.

Each year, several of our lawyers undertake secondments in our international offices and with partner firms.

Daily Training and Empowerment

We aim to instill a culture of excellence in each lawyer, drawing on our unique expertise in France and teaching the demanding, pragmatic approach that characterises every Gide team member. We are committed to helping our lawyers quickly become independent.

Providing Real Prospects for Growth

We believe in rapid development for our lawyers and actively support their advancement. Promotion to Counsel is available after six years and to Partner after eight years. Annually, career paths and expectations are reviewed in discussion with the partners.

Your Everyday Wellbeing

Respect for each individual is the fundamental foundation of the values that shape our firm and guide all that we do. We believe that Gide’s strength lies in the diversity of its talented lawyers and staff, and the variety of their experiences.

We are committed to combating all forms of intolerance and discrimination, whether based on gender, age, origin, religion, sexual orientation, or any other social identity, by ensuring a humane and respectful management approach and a healthy balance between a demanding professional life and personal wellbeing.

The Workplace Wellbeing of our lawyers and staff is a constant consideration. At Gide, this is built around four key pillars: respect & management, diversity & inclusion, work-life balance, and parenthood.

As signatories of the Diversity Charter since 2018, we continue to uphold our commitments to promote equal opportunities, strengthen gender balance (our 2023 gender equality index score is 98/100), and foster a collective environment in which everyone feels recognised and valued.

Finally, everyone is encouraged to contribute to charitable associations, causes, and projects through our endowment fund, Gide Pro Bono, established in 2012. We support organisations that promote access to education, law and justice, and assistance to the most vulnerable. Each lawyer is invited to devote up to 40 hours per year, and each staff member up to 20 hours, to Pro Bono initiatives, whether through legal support or volunteer work.
