Mélanie Gouraud is an associate in Gide's "Competition & International Trade" team in Brussels.
She advises on all areas of European law, from institutional law to internal market law. In competition law, she has worked on cartel, abuse of dominant position and state aid cases, both before the French Competition Authority and the European Commission, and before the Court of Justice of the European Union. She is also involved in merger control proceedings before the European Commission and the Moroccan Competition Council.
Mélanie has worked on numerous cases before the Court of Justice of the European Union (actions for annulment, actions for failure to act, preliminary rulings). In particular, she was involved in the Google Shopping case (abuse of dominant position) and the Engie case (state aid). She also acted on a case before the French Competition Authority (cartel). Mélanie has also worked for major French and international groups on mergers (energy, luxury goods, transport, etc.).
Mélanie studied at the University of Nice and the University of Strasbourg. She was admitted to the Paris and Brussels Bars in 2022.
