Jean-Guillaume de Tocqueville is a partner within the Banking & Finance practice group of Gide, and heads the Financial Services practice. He advises banking and financial institutions on regulatory matters and financial markets regulations and litigation, including banking, investment services and investment management issues. Jean-Guillaume also advises clients in connection market abuse, financial crime and international sanctions issues. He works in close connection with the international network of the Firm in particular with the Brussels, London and New York offices. He also carries out lobbying activities on the same matters with European and French authorities.
Jean-Guillaume de Tocqueville acts for French and international banks, financial institutions, and investment funds, advising them on their structure, regulatory environment, products and operations (in particular on procedural, compliance and KYC/AML issues). He assists these same entities with regard to their disciplinary and judicial disputes before French professional, civil and criminal jurisdictions, and European jurisdictions. He is regularly in contact on these matters with the French Ministry of Finance, AMF and ACPR, and with the European Commission.
He also advises these entities on their domestic and cross-border acquisitions and restructurings.
