The Firm is often involved in setting up, restructuring or renegotiating syndicated loans, bilateral loans or short-term overdraft facilities for large French and foreign financial institutions, borrowers, public authorities and venture funds. It has also gained experience on acquisition financing transactions in the form of tender offers, primary and secondary LBOs, MBOs and other highly-leveraged acquisition arrangements. It has acquired substantial know-how in this area, both on domestic and cross-border transactions, acting as counsel for arrangers, banks, mezzanine funds, investors or CLO/CDO funds.
Moreover, Gide Loyrette Nouel specialises in financing transactions covering raw materials (oil, gas, metal, etc.), real estate and movable assets (equipment, ships, aircraft), regardless of the financing method used (leasing, financial leases, deconsolidating finance, tax-driven financing, etc.). As regards real estate financing, the Firm advises major French and European banks with a wide range of clients including large English, American and European investors, or Saudi investors bound by the Sharia. It advises them on financing (on a domestic or European level), acquisitions, building real estate or asset portfolios, and financing the purchase of stakes in listed and unlisted real estate companies.
