The Intellectual Property, Technology & Electronic Communications Department covers all legal and regulatory aspects of the telecommunications sector and assists companies as well as regulatory bodies in this business area.
Gide Loyrette Nouel has gained international recognition for its expertise in defining telecommunications sector policies, drafting regulatory frameworks to open up telecommunications markets and set up regulatory bodies in Europe, the United States, Africa and Asia.
The Intellectual Property, Technology & Electronic Communications Department assists companies and financial institutions (whether private or public) in granting licences (GSM, UMTS, etc.), obtaining authorisations and approvals, setting up mobile, satellite or fixed (wired and cable networks, fiber optics, wireless local loops) telecommunications networks, privatisations, financing or restructuring operators. It has regular contacts with top telecommunications engineering and marketing firms.
It also assists clients in the drafting of mobile phone services contracts, partnership agreements, and contracts for the supply of content services to operators (SMS, WAP, GPRS and UMTS).
