For several years, The Transportation, Aviation, Maritime and Insurance Law Department has been developing its aviation practice, making it a preferred adviser for airlines, aircraft manufacturers and other air transport operators, maintenance organisations and aviation insurers.
Due to the Firm’s experience in this area, the Department is present at all stages, from the sale and financing of the aircraft right up to its seizure, including the purchase, leasing and maintenance of aircraft. It is also involved in aircraft finance based on tax-driven mortgage credit, including problems related to aircraft registration and securities.
The Department provides permanent support for major airlines, aviation insurance providers and numerous aircraft and helicopter manufacturers, especially as regards liability claims, product liability and major and minor air accidents. Its expertise covers a wide range of areas, including civil and commercial aviation, and the operation and maintenance of helicopters and aircraft.
The Department regularly advises on aviation insurance and reinsurance claims and all aspects of aviation liability, including: passenger, baggage and cargo claims, third party claims, aircraft damage and hull claims. It has advised several major airlines and their insurers on the liability arising from major air accidents, including both civil claims and criminal corporate liability.
The Firm also specialises in aerospace law, acting for satellite builders and insurers.
