30 November 2004- Gide Loyrette Nouel advises the Maersk-Akwa consortium in the concession of the first container terminal at Tangiers’s Mediterranean harbour.
The consortium comprises the Danish group Maersk, the world’s largest ship-owner, and the Moroccan holding company Akwa. On 22 November, the consortium was announced as the winner in the bid for the 30-year concession of the first container terminal in the Tangiers harbour.
The concession companies committed themselves to investing 120 million euros by 2007, and an additional 30 million euros by 2010. They will also be paying monthly licence fees amounting to more than 100 million euros over the whole concession period.
