19 November 2010 - Gide Loyrette Nouel strengthens its Vietnam practice with the appointment of a new partner and two senior lawyers in banking and finance and real estate/construction:
Gide Loyrette Nouel (GLN) is pleased to announce the appointment of Samantha Campbell as resident partner and the addition of banking and finance expert, Pham Bach Duong, and real estate specialist, Ha Dang Quang, to its Vietnam practice. Their appointments reflect the Firm’s commitment to providing a full spectrum of legal services to clients in South-east Asia and are in response to greater client demand for specialised advice in Vietnam.
Samantha is an English qualified lawyer with over 12 years' experience advising on a broad range of corporate and finance matters. She has acted on a variety of international finance transactions, including mainstream bank lending, project development and financing, acquisition financing, real estate finance and debt restructuring. In addition, Samantha has considerable experience of cross-border M&A / private equity transactions and has advised on numerous joint venture arrangements, private acquisitions and divestitures. Building on her international experience outside Vietnam, Samantha is very active in the field of projects and PPPs in Vietnam, and is currently working on significant infrastructure projects.
Pham Bach Duong brings to the GLN team his extensive experience in banking and finance law and compliance in Vietnam and South-east Asia. Prior to joining GLN, Duong was Head of Legal for Standard Chartered Bank in Vietnam and the Mekong Region for almost six years. He has a strong track record in loans and trade finance involving international companies operating in Vietnam, as well as Vietnamese State-owned and private borrowers. Duong also has in-depth experience of Vietnamese securities issuances, custody services and derivative products, as well as the corporate aspects of transactions involving credit institutions and governance and compliance issues. He is a graduate of Sorbonne University - Paris I and the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, and speaks fluent Vietnamese, English, French and Russian.
Ha Dang Quang graduated from Ho Chi Minh City Law University in 1997. He advises a range of domestic and international clients on their real estate and construction development projects in Vietnam, with a particular focus on large-scale infrastructure, high technology production facilities and the hotel and leisure industry. Quang also regularly advises on corporate transactions in Vietnam. He is a former senior associate of Russin & Vecchi and speaks fluent Vietnamese and English.
