In the context of the privatisation of Banque du Sud, a Tunisian credit establishment, Gide Loyrette Nouel Tunis has been acting on behalf of a consortium comprising the Spanish bank Banco Santander Central Hispano S.A. and the Moroccan bank Attijariwafa Bank, for the acquisition of the State’s equity interests in Banque du Sud, amounting to 33.54% of the share capital. The amount of the transaction comes to nearly 38 million euros (61 million Tunisian Dinars).

Gide Loyrette Nouel Tunis has also assisted the consortium for the acquisition of 20% of Banque du Sud’s share capital from private shareholders, thus giving it a simple majority in the bank.

The Gide Loyrette Nouel team advising the consortium was led by Kamel Ben Salah, assisted notably by Salah Dakhlaoui.
