17 April 2008 - Gide Loyrette Nouel China advises Areva T&D on Chinese expansion:

Gide Loyrette Nouel China has advised Areva’s Transmission and Distribution Division (Areva T&D) on the creation of three joint venture companies in China as part of a US$20.4 million (€13 million) infrastructure investment plan.

The joint venture arrangements between Areva T&D and Beijing Yuli Lian Ou High-Voltage Electric Equipment Co. Ltd., Guangzhou LeeKeen Group Co. Ltd. and Wuxi Hengchi Electrical Apparatus Co. Ltd. are expected to help all parties increase market share in the area of electricity supply, specifically the manufacturing and supply of disconnectors.

The Firm's China Team assisted Areva T&D on the entire contractual process, including the drafting and negotiation of the joint venture agreements as well as technology license agreements. Gide Loyrette Nouel legal team was led by partner David Boitout, with assistance from senior associates Zheng Yu in Beijing and Renaud Rossa in Shanghai.
