Gide Loyrette Nouel A.A.R.P.I. is advising Semmaris, the company that manages the Rungis international fresh produce market (the largest market of its kind in the world), on the public sell off of some of its capital and its search for an industrial partner. 
 
The sell off of part of the State’s majority stake in Semmaris was authorised by government decree in August 2006. After issuing an invitation for offers and consulting the Equity Holdings and Transfers Commission, the State accepted a bid from Altarea, a company listed on Eurolist that specialises in developing and operating shopping centres.

Altarea will acquire 33.34% of the capital of Semmaris. The public sector will retain more than 50%. This transaction should be completed by the end of 2007.
