Gide Loyrette Nouel has advised France Telecom on the acquisition of 100% of the share capital of CCT (Congo China Telecom), a mobile operator in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This acquisition is the result of the agreements: (i) with ZTE Corporation, a global telecoms equipment manufacturer and network solutions supplier listed on the Hong Kong and Shenzhen stock exchanges, to purchase 51% of CCT's share capital and to provide network equipment and services to CCT, with strategic financing support from CDB (China Development Bank), and (ii) with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) within the scope of the tender offer launched by the DRC for its 49% share of CCT's equity and for improved licence terms.
