24 January 2008 - Gide Loyrette Nouel Casablanca advises Renault Nissan on the creation of a manufacturing complex in Morocco:
Gide Loyrette Nouel Casablanca advised the Renault Nissan Alliance over the creation of a manufacturing complex near Tangier (North Morocco). The project represents a global capacity investment of more than € 600 million, with a first phase of € 350 million.
With an operating capacity of 400,000 vehicles per year, this complex is considered to be one of the largest manufacturing complexes in the Mediterranean. Comprising an assembly plant located on a 300-hectare site inside the Tangiers Mediterranean Special Economic Zone, it will use the TangerMed port platform. This project will create around 6,000 direct jobs, and 30,000 indirect jobs. The building works for the industrial complex are due to start in February 2008.
The framework agreement and the six application agreements were signed in Rabat on 18 January 2008, in the presence of Mr Abbas El Fassi, Prime Minister of Morocco.
