23 October 2007 - Gide Loyrette Nouel advises Groupama on its acquisition of the insurance company BT Asigurari for EUR 90 million:

Gide Loyrette Nouel advised Groupama in connection with its acquisition of the Romanian insurance company, BT Asigurari, from Banca Transilvania. The bank sold the French finance group a 90% interest in BT Asigurari for EUR 90 million.
 
Romania is currently experiencing a sustained level of economic development, with a growth rate of 7.7%. The insurance sector has great growth potential because it currently represents only 1.7% of GDP.  BT Asigurari is one of the insurance market leaders in Romania. It ranks in 9th position for insurance and 12th for life assurance. It is therefore in a good position to make the most of market growth.
