30 September 2008 - Benoît Le Bret joins Gide Loyrette Nouel in Brussels:
Benoît Le Bret joins the Brussels Office of international law firm Gide Loyrette Nouel on October 1, 2008. Prior to this he held the post of Head of Cabinet under Jacques Barrot, Vice-President of the European Commission.
A graduate of ENA (class of 1993) and Sciences Po Paris, Benoît Le Bret began his career in 1993 at the Ministry of Finance. From 1997 to 1999 he oversaw budgetary and financial issues for the French Permanent Representation to the European Union.
In 1999 he began working at the European Commission in the Cabinet of Michel Barnier. Starting in 2004 he acted as Head of Cabinet under Jacques Barrot, who was Member of the European Commission for Regional Policy, then Vice-President of the European Commission in charge of Transports, and then Vice-President of the European Commission in charge of Justice, Freedom, and Security.
