26 March 2007 - Gide Loyrette Nouel Brussels assisted LSI Logic Corporation with notification to the Bundeskartellamt of its acquisition of Agere Systems Inc.:

On 21 February 2007, Gide Brussels office obtained clearance for the acquisition by the LSI Logic Corporation of the control over the US company Agere Systems Inc. This deal was a foreign-to-foreign transaction between two US companies active in the semi-conductor industry worth US$ 4 billion.

The transaction had to be filed in the United States, Germany and before the Chinese competition authorities.

Stéphane Hautbourg, a partner with Gide Loyrette Nouel Brussels, assisted by Christina Renner, a German associate, handled the notification to the Bundeskartellamt.

The US law aspects of the transaction were handled by Scott Sher, a partner with Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, and Rick Woodworth, special counsel..
