13 April 2006 - Gide Loyrette Nouel Algiers advised AIG Infrastructure Funds LLC on the sale of its minority stake in Orascom Telecom Algeria for US$ 230 million:

Gide Loyrette Nouel's Algiers Office advised AIG Infrastructure Funds LLC (AIG), an investment fund managed by Emerging Markets Partnership, on the sale of its minority stake in Orascom Telecom Algeria to Emirates International Investment Company for US$ 230 million. 

AIG's investment in Orascom Telecom Algeria was the largest investment ever realised by a private equity fund in North Africa (US$ 45 million) and this sale is the first liquidation of a private equity transaction involving an Algerian company.  

Orascom Telecom Algeria is the first Algerian private company to achieve a turnover of more than US$ 1 billion.

Emirates International Investment Company is the family investment company of Sheikh Zeyed El Mahanyan, Emir of Abu Dhabi.
