Mehrnoosh Aryanpour joined Gide as a partner in 2017 to head the firm's practice in Iran. She is an experienced international lawyer specialising in international trade and regulatory matters, including sanctions and export controls (ITAR, EAR, and OFAC), Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, Customs, WTO disputes, and multi-jurisdictional commercial matters in transport, energy, and infrastructure. She assists numerous domestic and foreign companies, including in the oil and gas production, oil field services and equipment sector, ocean carriers, airlines, manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies, and hospitality providers on due diligence and Iran sanctions.
Ms Aryanpour previously worked for several international law firms, as of Counsel for Gibson Dunn & Cruchter LLP in Washington, and as Senior Counsel and Senior Policy Advisor at Holland & Knight LLP New York and Washington, heading their Afghanistan practice.
Admitted to the New York Bar in 2009 (pending admission to the Washington Bar, District of Columbia), Mehrnoosh Aryanpour holds an LL.M. in International Legal Studies from Georgetown University Law Center (2006), a Certificate in International Law, from the London School of Economics & Political Sciences (2005), and an LL.B. from the Tehran University, Iran (2003) - She ranked Number One out of some 500,000 students in Iran's national Concours Exam, receiving commendation and awards from both the Supreme Leader and the President for the highest academic achievement in the Islamic Republic of Iran (2003). She speaks Farsi, English, French and Arabic.
