Matthieu Roy is a partner within Gide’s Mergers & Acquisitions / Corporate practice group, with extensive experience in acquisitions, corporate restructurings (mergers, demergers, contributions) and the setting up of strategic joint ventures.
Matthieu spent three years within Gide’s Moscow office and headed the firm’s Istanbul office for four years, giving him in-depth understanding and practice of mergers and acquisitions in an international context, as well as of cross-border operation coordination.
He recently advised Air Liquide in the take-over of Messer Aligaz; Hitachi on the acquisition of Mars Lojistik; Yves Rocher on the acquisition of a majority stake in Flormar; Lafarge on the setting up of a joint venture with Strabag in Eastern Europe; the South-African group Steinhoff on the acquisition of Conforama; Euro Pool System on the acquisition of LPR; Crédit Agricole Assurances on the acquisition of the life insurance division of April Group; Natixis on the sale of its stake in Caceis; La Banque Postale on its partnership with Groupama in the field of non-life insurance; Legrand on the acquisition of companies in Russia and Turkey.
He is member of the Paris Bar and graduated from the HEC business school (Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales) in Paris.
